Lyrics
How can we count the stars In the midnight sky Diamonds we wish upon When the moon is high How can we count the tears In a mothers eyes No words can calm her fears When hope has run dry How can we count the dreams That fall by the way A vision barely seen Then faded to grey How can we stop the pain And all of the sorrow Life should not be in vain No hope for tomorrow Under the bitter sun Life ends as its begun Oh, cryforthe children Oh, cryforthe children We cannot turn away From the price they pay Oh, cryforthe children Cry for the children How can we count the ways That we refuse to see The difference we can make For all of humanity How do we count our time Living upon this earth How do we put a price On what a soul is worth Under the bitter sun Life ends as its begun Oh, cryforthe children Oh, cryforthe children We cannot turn away From the price they pay Oh, cryforthe children Cry for the children How can we count the prayers Whispered in the night As angels gather around Until the morning light How can we count the times That we refuse to see That we are all souls In our vessels at the sea Under the bitter sun Life ends as its begun Oh, cryforthe children We cannot turn away From the price they pay Oh, cryforthe children Cry for the children
