Story behind the song
A rather bleak song in 7/4 The title and tag line come from A Little Hatred by Joe Abercrombie. If you haven't read any Joe Abercrombie, you should. Now. Surely the best fantasy writer today bar none. The complete phrase is "In the camps, the first thing you learn is you stand with the winners", and that leapt off the page and hit me like a football to the back of the head. The song doesn't follow the story but thank you, Mr Abercrombie, for the inspiration.

drawn to this when I noticed Tony's comment - great stuff Steve! excellent song - great music, excellent vocals and the lyrics, well, they're soaring somewhere above brilliant for sure! guitar's awesome! Last verse has a cool Rog ('sheep') feel big time...how apt for today's world mate!

Not familiar with the author but these lyrics are really good and this thing rocks. Love the guitar work. You are a gifted player. Strong performance production and good writing.

Great lyrics Steve and chillingly true sentiment . Great guitar and performance as per . Loved the guitar break before last verse thunderstruck esque but more subtle! Great writing Steve .
