Story behind the song
Song was written in 2012 shortly after Chicago rappers kept getting locked up or dieing in the streets. I wanted to reach out to someone else who feels like I do about IT'S TIME to make music that's pleasing to The Most High Yah and not this unsatisfied world to spark a change in all Yahs children of all ages
Lyrics
Chorus: It's time for me to love myself If I don't then know one else I look to the sky, cause I been through hell I want let him hold me back Want let him hold me back Devil will not hold me back Want let me let me let me Verse: Be the 1st to say No to these drugs for once After I've smoked a blunt Now look what I have done Nothing I sat on the couch Stretch got back in the bed Still at my parent's house Can't get it through my head This ain't the way to be living Why am I so depressed With this gift I been given It's obvious I am blessed Spit everything I've written Somehow I'll find success I got two little children That needs me to try my best To rap out my stress And get out this mess Everyone and they mothers and father's Rap now I guess The chances for making it in this worlds Much harder for me But I had a little boy and a girl at home starving During those times I didn't result To armed robberies My conscience drilled me like The Navy Airforce Marines I'm to old to join the Army and Be all I can Be But I'll let this Country Lift every voice for me and sing 2cd Chorus: It's time for me to love myself (Life is hard) If I don't then know one else (OH my Yah) I look to the sky, cause I been through hell (Singing loud) I want let him hold me back Want let him hold me back Devil will not hold me back Want let me let me let me Bridge Sing my song As good as it feels It helps me deal with this hard knocked life I gotta Sing my song I'll make I will My kids tell me pops you're tight I gotta Sing my song Like I'm thankful that Yah Made me be so hot like He know I gotta Sing my song He makes me feel like a star Whenever I'm in the spotlight Me know Repeat 2cd Chorus: Verse: Let me try to chase my dreams Yah I must get mines Seems like I'm tired You're running late But you're just on time With a 9-5 But it sucks that I'm In my 50's getting older And still bustin my behind Imma use my mind People usually grind I'm no longer hustling getting quick bucks From a couple of dimes I love that I'm Not cussing every line Shows I'm a leader to the New schools when I bust a rhymes I refuse to whewHaaaa My dude snapped A lot of us these kids Only remember to make it clap What is the use if USA every day's Iraq Man I hate this crap Cause the blaming rap Up to the youth to see the truth Past all of that Just face the facts We can't take it back I can't wait for that Day I make a choice to bring it Straight from my heart Lift every voice in me and sing Repeat 2cd Chorus The end
