singer/songwriter/guitarist/solo act. Seamlessly melding country, blues, and folk
Jamey Darnold is a singer/songwriter/guitarist/ solo act originally from the banks of the Mississippi river town of Burlington, Ia. He has released to his credit 13 full length albums that seamlessly meld country, blues, and folk styles spanning from 2004's "Burlington Bound.. a railroad town" to 2023's "The Running River". He is influenced by up and coming Americana artist such as "Jason Isbell" to the folk rock classics of "The Eagles", and Neil Young. Story behind the song
1940's "A baby boomer mom's story
Lyrics
Take a big look, That's what mom said It's a long book, never been read Up in the morning, So much to do With little warning, I can count on you Won't you help me, I heard you say Empty tummies, Don't go away soh Because.. ..Because! Little bees, they like to buzz Cause, they trust, in you eoh And now you're older, You never complain On to your shoulders you Carry, no blame Noses are runny, Bruises are blue My little honey, I count on you Dad has to go, It pays those bills Your heart sinks low, It's almost still CHORUS Older sisters, make better listeners And They love,........Little sisters Someday, you'll find your Man He loves you too, The best he can Somewhere in time, You'll own your own home Nursery rhymes, Children of your own CHORUS We had love, From the start we grew old, And lost our parts We'll be together until the end My Daughter, And My friend Because.. ..Because! Little bees, they like to buzz Because, they trust' in you

Wonderful ode to a time that has passed (and sadly not coming back even if they were viewed as ‘tough’ - somehow not having digital everything still saw us all survive, get on with it and make do) Great lush mix Jamey, lilting melody and superb vocals add to a great piece of story telling, so good!
