Story behind the song
A 2004 remake of my 1983 not classic 'Some Trees' which was inspired by the scene in Slaughterhouse 5 where Billy Pilgrim is lying buried in snow on a mountainside after the plane crash. His body is there on the mountainside but his consciousness is back in Dresden in world war two where he is a prisoner of war, witnessing the allied fire bombing which killed more people than the atomic bomb on Hiroshima. This song represents a feeling of calm and inner peace. One day I hope to know how that really feels.
