Emotional At Airports, one of the first songs I wrote, is a tribute to my late father, who worked at London Heathrow.

Refreshingly different songs from a truly original critically acclaimed talent. ...a fine balance between rock/pop tradition and inventive lunacy! (GarageBand)
Seduced by your dirty blues and cheesy ballads, compulsive songwriter Woodstock Taylor is on a brief visit to Earth. For the past fifteen years or so she has been churning out an eclectic blend of strangely accessible tunes with proper lyrics. During that time she has had the chance to work with some people she really admires. A bit of a musical chameleon, she's been compared in the press to characters as diverse as Tom Waites, Kirsty MacColl, Edith Piaf, Michelle Shocked and Marianne Faithfull. Really she just sounds like Woodstock Taylor. Recent appearances include the CCA, Glasgow, the Borderline Theatre, Ayr, the Trowse Festival, Norfolk, Wickerman Festival, Dumfries & Galloway, Edinburgh People's Festival, Craigmillar and the Arts For Life Festival, Prince's Street Gardens, Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Based in Edinburgh, has a guitar, will travel.

Story behind the song
Emotional at Airports is dedicated to my late father, who spent most of his working life based at Heathrow. It was one of the first songs I ever wrote, back in the late 1980s, and I was inspired to update it by the death of Concorde, which used to take off from just outside his office.
This song enjoyed a long spell on the playlist at Radio Six International.
The cover picture is one of many splendid images at Thamesweb's Concorde Page, which also sells videos of the airliner's finest and final moments.

EMOTIONAL AT AIRPORTS (radio edit version) © Woodstock Taylor Paris, New York, London, Rome Tokyo, Moscow, Glasgow, home I get emotional at airports Hope against hope you might be there But ever since you boarded that plane I knew I'd never see you again Take a trip, fly out to wherever, Leave behind all the troubles at home Jetting off for business or pleasure You always knew you were bound to roam Paris, New York, London, Rome Tokyo, Moscow, Glasgow, home I get emotional at airports Hope against hope you might be there But ever since you boarded that plane I knew I'd never see you again I died inside the day you were sent your ticket to ride, a one-way haul You disappeared, the last great adventure Into the sunset, after the call Paris, New York, London, Rome Tokyo, Moscow, Glasgow, home cheerio, addio - let's go home
