If King Missile and Portishead had a baby at a Cure concert - that's us.
Mayhem Lettuce has been crafting sad, strange, sometimes silly, spoken-word songs from rural Illinois since 1993. We're two beardy dudes raised on King Missile with delusions of Portishead.

Story behind the song
This song is primarily inspired by Grant Morrison's The Invisibles comic book. That, and a really fun weekend I had in Chicago, bowling for anarchy.
Lyrics
A return to whimsy Is that impossible? The eldritch line goes down farther than I can reach Try to regain control or lose control Remember what it was like to let go and enjoy the sun Is the Grey Kingdom so far away? So forgotten? Have betrayal and lust replaced creativity? Machines Consume Obey "Your little lives powered by blood..." Amass Compare Weep "We can steer you like cars." Fear is the mindkiller; I will let it pass through me "I have become afraid of everything." "I am the tiger in the rain, pulling you from your car, tearing you to bits on the bloody highway. I'm one holy f*** ing terror." Let your goal be the tearing down of goals Learn to become invisible "Try to remember; It's only a game."
