Story behind the song
I wrote this song one day after I went to Summerfest. We were heading home from a long night of music when I decided to bust out the vocals on the way back. Ackerman claimed he had "no voice" (*cough* BULLSHIT *cough*), so he couldn't sing...and I was left to do it all alone. As I was busting out some of the C.O.I. classics, two girls came along and starting talking with us. I talked about how we were pretty popular locally (bullshit) and they were somehow really, really impressed (must have been drunk). By the end of the shuttle ride home I got a phone number, but it wasn't to be as she lived too far away. And as the song says, "My long distance fees don't pay for themselves."
