Story behind the song
I don't like sounding cheesy and emo. Something about that kind of emotionally oversaturated music seems disingenuous, so I try to avoid it. Unfortunately, there are moments in my life where I get a little emo and feel the need to channel those kinds of emotions into my music. So, as to avoid the embarrassment of sounding cheesy and using pathetic imagery, I wrote in Spanish--- because that kind of imagery works in Spanish. Also, I can detach myself from the root of those emotions when writing in another language.
