Story behind the song

i like william blake a lot, and i thought these lines were really blakey, then i put it to a kitschy 80s backbeat with guitar parts that sound like keyboards, i tried to make it spacey and sound happy when the lyrics are actually kind of depressing/angering. i think this is what adds to the irony of the song, with conflicting antiquated rhymne scheme and electro back beat, light melody against heavy apathy.
