Penetraytor is a one man project, born out of a love for electronic music. As a fan of Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk, Ultravox and New Order I started experimenting with simple music making programs on my home PC. The results have been startling, unexpected and satisfying. I try to give my compositions a simple, catchy beat and interesting chord changes with strange sounds thrown in for good measure. I'm not a singer but I do use sampled voices on some tracks (none of them are me though), most of my tracks are instrumentals however. I hope you enjoy my compositions.

Story behind the song
Solstice is becoming a bit of an obsession right now ! I want each track to sound different from the last, so with Part 3 I've decided to try to go full blown ambient. Although its not a style I do particularly well (in my opinion, you may think differently) I'm quite pleased with the sound. A very good friend once said that ambient was all about evoking emotion, hopefully I've done that with this piece. The opening sequence was laid down to sound like melodic clocks, marking the passing of time from one soltice to the next. I've *maybe* borrowed the idea from JMJ's Chronologie (a little !) but I think it works well here. I decided to make it a more melodic, harmonic sound than JMJ's sample and changed the harmonies a couple of times through the 30 second sequence. The sequence is repeated at the end of the track as well. The main body of the piece is quite simple, but I hope enjoyable and soothing....until the little break. That part was meant to sound quite threatening and powerful. As an artist I like to try to experiment. This piece is definately experimentation for me, but hopefully my first real attempt at ambient has worked. Theres a lot of FX, panning, harmony changes and samples thrown it.
