A realization that God's plans are not always our plans.
Simple songs that I hope will touch the heart of God, and maybe a few other people in the process.
I may never make it to Nashville, and I may never be on the radio, but that's okay. That's not why I do what I do. I do what I do because I understand things best when I get them down in rhyming lines set to music. I do what I do because I believe that my Heavenly Father enjoys the songs that few hear just as much as He enjoys the songs that everyone hears. I do what I do because it's one of the best ways I know how to worship God, encourage friends, and uplift the body of Christ.

Story behind the song
I started off the first semester of my freshman year as a Chemical Engineering major. But I wasn't content. Over and over, I began to sense God's call on my heart and His Spirit leading me to missions. This song, "Beautiful Disaster" is about that realization and change. By the standards of the world, it just doesn't make sense to give up the stability, prestige, and cash of an engineering career to pursue international missions. But I once heard it said that if we let Him, "Jesus messes up your life and makes it beautiful." After all, this is all for His glory, not ours!
Lyrics
I had everything mapped out From college to degree The future that I wanted And who I planned to be But then You grabbed my heart And You just won't let go I'm not sure where I'm headed But this is what I know You take our best laid plans and flip them Completely upside-down You take a heart and fashion it With the hands of the Master You take the gifts we bring and use them To turn our world around You take a life and change it Into a beautiful disaster Now I really don't know how My future will unfold But I know it's in Your hands With wonders yet untold 'Cause when You called my name You said You’d never leave Despite my human doubts You'll complete Your masterpiece You take our best laid plans and flip them Completely upside-down You take a heart and fashion it With the hands of the Master You take the gifts we bring and use them To turn our world around You take a life and change it Into a beautiful disaster Truer words I’ve never heard than these: "Jesus messes up your life And makes it beautiful"
