Story behind the song
A friend asked me once "why does God let bad things happen?". To many times, the initial answer of "only he knows" is hollow...but viewed with the understanding that God will never give us anything we can't handle...it becomes more clear. He will always give his grace and comfort in times of heartache if we will just lean on him. He offers himself freely. We won't always get the answer to our question...but we will get his grace. ccThis song was originaly penned in 1991. It was mixed in it's current form in January 1999. The mixdown was the most difficult because the mood needed to be right. I wanted close, intimate vocals, but I also wanted power and airiness to make it less "sweet". Once I added the whispering voices it added just what I think it needed...a more mysical, unknown quality...Just like God's grace!
