Story behind the song
I tried to equate the struggle of love within me for a lady who's life is just as much in turmoil as my own. I'm sure so many of us can relate. So many songs from the past came to mind on this one. The influences of music just floor me sometimes. Peace!
Lyrics
The lady's mind goes 'a hundred miles an hour. While her heart crawls along at eighty. Twenty miles an hour more between what she knows and maybe. She listens to the songs of time Those tunes about the past... She's been looking for a love song....but...her rhythm's way too fast. She doesn't need to write the songs. She only needs to sing along. But she'll come around someday.... if she just lets that music play. The lady makes her life so damn complicated. 'cause all she needs to do is love me. But she's tortured by a jaded heart that's walled in stone and hazey. She's always had a way to talk her mind into a cloud. No matter what I say...there's always a little doubt. She doesn't need to write the songs. She only needs to sing along. But she'll come around someday.... if she just lets that music play. Instrumental time!! simple but...I think Stills would have liked Bob's work!!
