Original Music in Popular Styles Written from a Christian Perspective
Did you know that Carter is the 42nd most popular last name in the U.S.? Or that Robert is the 3rd most popular 1st name?!?!?!?!? Well I asure you that if you are looking for a guy that loves Jesus, writes music to worship and glorify the Father Son and Holy Spirit AND writes...4th and 5th grade band music...? I'M your man!!! These days I have mostly been doing occassional solo gigs as I court the lovely and talented Mindy Schott (my girlfriend of 6 months.) I do orriginal contemporary worship and pop rock orriginals from a Christian perspective. There's just enough humor, sincerity, and vulnerability to keep the audience attentive as I share my Christian experience in an attempt to meet people where they are and bring them closer to God. With the band, we do a lot of "secular" rock covers with a Christ centered focus. That way, people are bound to hear the songs again and have the seed watered.

I wanted to write a song that was a fresh look at what we can learn from the Geresene demoniac.

THE OUTCAST  1996 Rob Carter Long ago, in the land of the Geresenes, There did live a man not welcome in town. He had done quite a bit more than make a scene.- With no clothes on he would scream and run 'round. And they tried to chain him up, but he only broke the chains. So he lived among the tombs. People said that he was strange.- (spoken) More than that, they called him "The Outcast". Jesus came to this land the Geresenes.- Right away he ran right into this guy. (who said) "Have you come here before the appointed time Just to torture us son of the most high?" Then the spirits in the man pleaded with Him saying this; "If you must send us away make it not to the abyss!" Then there were, not far away, men tending pigs on a hill. "Son of God, if you'll allow us to go into the pigs then we will". And the pigs all ran down the hill and died!!! (he was dresses and in his right mind) Those who saw everything that had happened there Ran and spread the news all over the town. Those who heard what had happened were full of fear and they said to one another "What now?" "We were used to how it was then this man comes here with change!" "We must send this man away!" They agreed that he was strange. (spoken) And just like that they made Him "The Outcast". We can be very comfortable where we are. And we all like to think- that we know God! Then he comes shining light that can make a change And we say "That can't be Him it's too odd!" How we need to realize God is bigger than we are! If your God is in a box He won’t take you very far! (spoken) So when He comes to you, don't make him, an outcast!
