Hard Rock band Losing Abby first formed in 2003 Miami, Fla. Uniting the creative talents of vocalist/guitarist Matthew Stone and drummer John Paul Garcia, the band soon immersed itself in the recording and writing of their full-length debut album: Thesis. Mastered by industry veteran Tom Baker (Hoobastank, Stone Temple Pilots, Nine Inch Nails), the album was independently released by the band early this year. Prior to launching Losing Abby, Stone built an extensive and impressive array of industry credits, including production on a number of full-length albums and EPs for several South Florida bands. His keen ear and knowledge of the studio proved invaluable when creating Losing Abby's album, which boasts the rare combination of solid, emotional songwriting with engaging honesty. Paired with Garcia's subtle but effective drumming style, and the result is a band that's hard to forget--or ignore.

Story behind the song
The Sun symbolizes a rebirth....To be clean from the pain that we suffer...Facing troubled times that have made me want to take my own life...But having hope that I'll find home within myself. To lie awake in the sun...is to free myself...and not let go.
Lyrics
Written by Matthew Stone AWAKE IN THE SUN You’re just watching me burn And it’s all that I deserve Left out on the highway Don’t go my way There’s no return I can’t seem to Find a way to Lie awake in the sun Someplace I can call my home Find a way to Lie awake in the sun Sometimes I just want to let go I’ve been watching you yearn For the love that you deserve Hold on tight to your grip don’t let life slip There’s no return I can’t seem to Find a way to Lie awake in the sun Someplace I can call my home Find a way to Lie awake in the sun Sometimes I just want to let go Ever since I’ve met you I’ve never felt more alive How can I forget you When I was on my knees You never turned your back on me Find a way to Lie awake in the sun Someplace I can call my home Find a way to Lie awake in the sun Sometimes I just want to let go
