Story behind the song
This is another remix contest entry for Acid Planet. The original tune is called "Firefly" by Dierdre. I wanted to share it with you. I wanted to come up with something as bizzare as the lyrics are with this tune. I didn't hold back and it was numberous hours of tweak and fix and I think I came up with something original and true to my plan. I used mostly the vocal tracks, the strings and a little of the synth samples, but most of the rest is a collection of various loops and samples from all ends of the world. I guess the overall feel is Drum and Bass (DnB). I tweaked the squeeeky vocal trying for something like the voice they created for the original movie of "The Fly". I like the bounce in the rhythm. I'm exhaused and this will be my final remix until something fresh comes along. Produced with headphones and meant to be played loud. Enjoy. Thanks for listening.
