Lolita Ray Swedish and English acoustic songs
Here you find some history of my songwriting kept. Back in the the day's I recorded my songs directly into my computer, often just a couple of days after I wrote them. The sound quality is not good. But each one of them reflekt the very special feeling I only have when a song is new.... You can also listen to some studiorecorded stuff with my two ex. bands here on soundclick: search for the bandnames Little Failures (English songs) and Lill-Britt Siv (Swedish songs). I write both in English and in Swedish wich is my native language. And when I write in English I try to use the language in my own way wich means it may not always be after the book... Most of the photos on this website are taken by Welsh photographer Rhys Jones. The others my myself. In november 2011 I released my first soloalbum in Swedish. Flickan av is. 10 songs of my own and three translations of Steve Earle. You can listen to a couple of tracks att myspace.com/lolitaray, and of course Spotify and iTunes, and if you want to order a copy, drop me a mail at sixstring97@yahoo.com Pax Lo

Story behind the song
It just came out!
Lyrics
Mary had a sister A strong and stubborn girl She left for an adventure To dive and find a pearl Mary said farewell She waved and cried a tear Her sister said; don’t worry There’s nothing that I fear Hey Ho across the sea Hey Ho where can it be? The ship soon left the harbour The adventure had begun Her sister was excited About what fun might come Mary sat down waiting She didn’t hear a word No postcard and no phone call No letter brought by a bird The strong and stubborn sister She sailed for many days Through storms and heavy weather The pearl refused delays Back home dear Mary worried Her heart was aching bad She prayed to God for safety She tried not to be sad Hey Ho across the sea Hey Ho where can she be? And then a dark and stormy night A glimmering light yippee! The pearl! Yelled Mary’s sister And dived into the sea The strong and stubborn sister She didn’t find a pearl She woke up on a shore and thought I am a stupid girl Hey Ho across the sea Hey Ho home can it be! Mary ran to the harbour When her sister’s ship arrived Her prayers had been answered Her sister had survived Mary had a sister A strong and stubborn girl She still enjoyed adventures But not to dive for a pearl The love in Mary’s heart Was the true pearl on this earth Her sister learned that love More than a pearl is worth Hey Ho across the sea Hey Ho home can it be!
