This is a musical spoof on the military march intended as part of a film score. It is a spoof because it is largely in 3/4 time and uses instruments such as violin and timpani that are not used in marching bands.

Story behind the song
As a cadet, many a Saturday or drill Thursday I stood on the plain (West Point's parade field) and marched to traditional military march music from the USMA band. I wondered (while at parade rest) what if I could come up with an alternative to the traditional 2/4 or 6/8 meter that would still work. Hmmm . . . www.dreamintoreality.us
