Story behind the song
I was walking in the mall (the Pru for you Bostonians) when I came up with this cute title, recalling a particular moment in my life. So yeah, part of this song is true. But "You Missed My Lips" was begging me to be a country song coz it was just too funny! But I slapped on an intrumental riff that I was gonna use for another project together with the lyrics of the chorus. Then from there I made the beat, incorporating the Singkil rhythm--a traditional Filipino Muslim dance (my favorite). Mixing the East and West was something I've been wanting to do for years. Now if you want to get complicated, the Spanish side of Filipinos is also represented with the b2 (read: "flat two") I used. I can proudly say that this song is a work of art.
