Story behind the song
A view of an amber sunset across snow covered fields and forests inspired the words "Whiskey skies and white carpets" - I thought the symbolism fit quite well so the song was born. I found a catchy driving bassline riff and put (my first attempt at) a long solo in the middle. Remains one of my classics - it is also the name of my cover band here in Durham in NE England (we do Hendrix, ACDC, Zepellin, SRV, amongst other classic rock songs through the defining decades)
Lyrics
Looking from my window On a still warm day In a sleepy hollow Where my mind has come to stay I see whiskey skies and white carpets on the way I learn something new Each and every day But I never thought that you Could a-teach me this way I see whiskey skies and white carpets on the way On the way, on the way, on the way, aarrgghh!! >>Long solo<< rpt both verses
