Story behind the song
The Love of Freedom and all of its attributes, that we share in this Great Land...called America. In spite of all that has happened, She is STILL the GREATEST COUNTRY in the free world.
Lyrics
Late at night I sleep so soundly. You're forever in my dreams. This feeling will last forever, or so it seems. Then I see the world around me, I see the pain the babies cry Then I know but for the Grace of God, there go I. Chorus: America you are my home, your love for freedom stands alone. America you are my home, I need you. I hear the thunder in the distance, I see the pain of those who died, so we can keep our freedom...you & I. May I never, ever doubt you. May your colors forever shine, in the Land of Freedom for all time. Chorus: America you are my home, your love for freedom stands alone. America you are my home, I need you. I see The Lady In The Harbor. Her tourch is plain to see. She's the symbol for all the world yearning to be free. Chorus:
