I am grilly; all these musics were written and multi-tracked by me, except where i say. i don't try and do any style of song in particular - largely, though, i make song-based tunes, consisting of guitar music augmented with the aid of my multi-track computer. so quite normal, then. i have prog and electronica tendencies as well, and i'd best describe my music as::: prog-pop.

Story behind the song
this song is about not taking a partner's name when one marries them, which i belive is a purely sexist tradition. i think the title is quite a good pun. i'm really proud of the tune and the production, even if looking back it's poorly levelled and so forth; i like what i was trying to do.
Lyrics
if i ever have kids i guess i better get hitched but don't take it (not even double-barreled) i wouldn't want to inflict that curse on her chorus: you can take my hand take my life but don't take my name, in vain. well my dream woman would see marriage as a sham but if there's nobody out there i'll just take what i can chorus.
