I wrote this song in honor of a place where I spent most of my younger years... Sinugba, tinula, prito ug kinilaw! Huh! Wa ba'y bahalina diha!
Leyte islands are great places! "First Mass in Asia" was held in Limasawa, Southern Leyte at the time of Magellan in 1521. Another historic event was the famous "General McArthur's landing" in Tacloban, Leyte during WW2. Another famous historic fact is, Eddie Florano hails from Southern Leyte:) lol
A lot of fine singer-songwriters who grew up there but never thought of writing somethin' about it... describing it's beauty and the eagerness to visit her again and again...
I wrote this tribute because I'm proud to be a Leyteno!
Songs are very very easy to make (thank God for that!) and I can do it in a snap... but only few of them will be remembered by the next generations and generations to come... So, I hope you will remember this song, fellow Leytenos! Mabuhay!
