Story behind the song
I was trying to put my own twist to my bobby's "gates of eden." I wrote these lyrics in high school, so they're pretty old.
Lyrics
all the beggars pilgrimage from country far away lands with pursed lips dirty hair torn hearts and grabbing hands their heads weighted with desire they’ve heard all the stories everyone wants a piece of the temple of chalk paste’s glory dirty feet washed in silver sinks they don new pairs of skin to try to heighten their lowly chances of getting accepted in the randomness of the whole the logistics of the few give in to the entropy of the divide of fake and true books of knowledge money spent as the eager sacrifice but the temple of chalk paste refuses to accept buys don’t think she won’t know the phonies you are being when you think her eyes are closed is when she’s really seeing don’t even think she’s myth I’ve seen her yes she’s real and if you ever meet her you best avert your eyes and kneel
