This page is dedicated to RMMS (rec.music.makers.songwriting)song challenges. The concept is very simple. Everyone suggests one or more names for a song and the list is voted down until there is one winning title. Everyone then writes a song with that title. The results are amazing. There are so many variations and no two are alike. These songs are my entries. They are listed in order of writing and a recorded commentary introduces each one. These are simply done using various software tools along with a Washburn guitar and a Yamaha keyboard.

Lyrics
Dead Man's Blues [v1] If I woke up this morning I would be alive If I woke up this morning I would be alive But my baby won't let me survive [v2] She spent all my money on whiskey and gin She spent all my money on whiskey and gin A hard drinking woman won't let me win [v3] I worked all day so she could play all night I worked all day so she could play all night Baby brought me down without a fight [ch] I have no use for my Nike shoes I'm just living the dead man blues I don't need no women and booze I'm just living the dead man's blues [v4] My eyes are wide open but I can't see My eyes are wide open but I can't see But now I thank God that I'm free [v1] If I woke up this morning I would be alive If I woke up this morning I would be alive But my baby won't let me survive [ch] I have no use for my Nike shoes I'm just living the dead man blues I don't need no women and booze I'm just living the dead man's blues
