Story behind the song

My ex motivated me to write this song because one night he accused me of being capricious because I said I never wanted to see him again... so I wrote this song...

Lyrics

once upon a time I was a young girl
I was smart enough and bright and still believed in love
and I fell for a man in the air
and he kissed my hair on a tower
as the sunset sank
and so began 
my fairytale

now this man in question
was a sight to behold
with his dark careless curls
and eyes protruding with soul
and he was a poet drinking wine from a glass
and he could play a guitar
as easily as playing my heart

and he took me for 10 months and he changed me
and I hung the former shell of myself on a coat hanger
and after those 10 months he moved on
and he said I still love you but she is the one

So I opened up my dark closet and found it in the corner
and I took my shell out mothballs and all and put it back on
and i poured a drink and lifted my glass
cyaniscm and capriciousness is the toast i'm making to us
