Robert Emmett is a writer/musician/artist who has been lurking around the fringes of the Chicago music scene since the late 1980's. Decidedly 'underground' due
Well we walked down to the bay, where the trees are retiring early
I wonder can I say that winter's here?
And the time is nearing when you will walk alone
The trees are there to filter you through the rain
And the stars are shining, but they don't know my name
But they wont keep me down as I rise
Well I took a chance today to take my time again
I don't think my words will carry me anymore
And my eyes are closing 'cuz they dont see a thing
But that wont keep me down, when I rise
Well I hung around your room, dangling in the breeze
You never let me down to run around on my knees
And your face is fading, it's just a memory
But I wont let you go when I rise
Watch me rise
