Artist picture
Art rock and folk singer songwriter Tim Gallant.
I'm primarily a songwriter - I've written roughly one thousand songs since about age 12. I listed myself as folk, but in truth I do a broad variety of stuff - quasi-prog, folk, rock, and too-difficult to classify. My major project I'm currently working on is called Metanarrative, and incorporates folk, quasi-classical, semi-Gregorian, art rock and more. The important thing to me is not genre, but beauty. Good melody, pleasing vocals (often with lush harmonies), musical balance. And thoughtful, artful lyrics.

Story behind the song
My mother is faced with the likelihood of cancer, after being clear for over 11 years. I wrote this for her. The title and much of the content is drawn from Romans 8.
Lyrics
GROANING copyright 2005 by Tim Gallant the things that you are facing are things you've faced before but still the apprehension is something you can't ignore I'm watching as your tears fall I know cause they are mine it's hard not to be fearful we're running out of time so all creation's groaning and we are groaning too awaiting the adoption when we'll be ever new we don't know what to pray for some times not sure we can thank God He gives His Spirit who groans on our behalf how long must we groan and how long must we cry how long it goes on all these questions why but it all works together for those who love the Lord He's given Jesus freely of this we are assured so who can separate us from God the Father's love not demons and not angels things below or things above but how long must we groan... we're seeking and we're crying we're living and we're dying struggling with a world we can't quite comprehend we're aching and we're groaning (in these earthen vessels) we're praying for our homeland struggling with the Lord but we are not abandoned so who can separate us from God the Father's love not demons and not angels things below or things above
