Hi, my name is Julie Chow, and I am a singer-songwriter who is currently based in San Francisco, California. I have released four self-produced albums: When Desires Collide (in 2001), The Stars Shine Bright Tonight (in 2002), Momentarily Disreplaced (in 2003) and Wheel of Fortune (Narcissus & the Echo) (2004). Story behind the song
A third-person point of view of an over-possessive relationship. In this case, a girl is taking advantage of her partner's devotion towards her. The partner is being abused, and they know it, but somehow they are unable to free themselves from the other's clutches. The speaker in the song is an outside observer who sees everything that is going on, but feel that they are not in the position to tell the person what to do.
