English composer Des O'Connor and American poet Ashley Alquine team up to create aural landscapes from surreal vocals and experimental beats. Living on different continents hasn't hindered their ability to create music, thanks to the alchemy of the Internet. Des labels them the First Transplanetary Band(tm), and they collaborate with file transfers and arcane digital voodoo. The band has currently just completed contributing to the musical score of a UK channel 4 documentary film called 3's a Crowd, due out this fall, and the band is also working on its soon to be released CD, Resurrection.

Story behind the song
This song is one of a themed series of songs. The theme is eternal beauty and love and the trials and triumphs that humanity endures for these goals. Requiem brings up the idea of eternal love, even at the brink of destruction with the idea of being resurrected anew to continue that love.
Lyrics
Hold me now While this glowing star makes a final bow Worlds away They will see the magic of this time and place Close my eyes A thousand waterfalls of rainbows fill the skies Can you see The power of the moment Spreading through All of Creation Can’t you Feel The splitting of the fragments Of this core Shattering us Requiem For an Ancient sun That fueled our world With a lifetime of wishes Spinning free In orbs of fiery glory We meet anew A different world before us Long ago We’d have never imagined it to be so This silence Filling the mind With words we meant to say With words We meant to say But never did Never Requiem For an Ancient Sun Requiem For An Ancient Sun That fueled our world With a lifetime of wishes Spinning out into space Spinning free without a trace In Fiery,Fiery glory We meet anew A world of light before us
