Gypsy Hill Reunion is a band formed in 2004 by a group of studio musicians who have been playing together, in one band or another, since 1987. Having its original roots in a jam-band named The Sons of Sound, formed in Fairfax, Virginia in the late 1980s, the members of Gypsy Hill Reunion live in 6 different states, including Rhode Island, Virginia, North Carolina, Washington state, Georgia and Arizona. The original members of the Sons of Sound, including Hector Guiterrez, Jack Ryan, Dennis Flanders, Kelly Miller, Jack "Herb" Lawrence, and Chris Okay met, became close personal friends, and began playing music together because they loved playing music together. They are still best friends, and they still play music together (UPDATE: We found Herb, he's living in Richmond. and he's been in touch). Their enduring love for playing live music -- rock and blues music, especially the "second-tier" 70s rock bands, and the later bands that lived and evoked that music (The Black Crowes, The Allman Brothers, Robin Trower, Pat Travers, Steely Dan, Robert Cray, The Grateful Dead) -- has included a long-standing tradition of band "reunions" occurring frequently over the years, in spite of careers, families, babies, financial difficulties, and the normal vagaries of everyday life.

Story behind the song
This was inspired by the break up of several close friends in the last coupla months, and my own experiences in breaking up and how I handle it.
Lyrics
1) I just have this funny feeling >that I will live to see another day >Somehow I know the sun will shine again tomorrow >All these clouds surely will blow away > >(2) You thought I'd have it bad this morning >after you walked out on me last night >You thought I'd bring you wine and flowers >and do my best to make things right > >(C) I guess you were wrong >when you told me that I'd miss you >You must have miscalculated, when you > said my heart would never mend >Now, I'm a good man, though I'm probably overrated >Because today I'm feeling better once again > >(lead break) > >(3) I know I should be feeling sorry >I should be crawling on my knees >I should be begging you to come back - come back baby! >But I'd rather do just what I please > >(C) > >(4) You tell me one day I'm going to need you >But baby, that's so yesterday >I need a drink -- and some time to think >And I'm walking on down the road, just smiling as I say . . . > >(C) > >scat scat boogiewoogie scat scat
