Aggressive melodic post punk modern music written from a drummer's perspective...
Welcome to the Hardy Drew and the Nancy Boys Soundclick Website. I hope that you enjoy the music! I was raised by two very loving musical parents with two equally talented musical siblings. My early musical training was on the piano taking lessons but my real passion was the drums. Having no lessons in drumming, I developed my own unique approaches. One day I heard my father say that music like metal wasn't music at all, but rather, "musical gymnastics". He wasn't really trying to flatter the genre, but he was truly correct in a beautiful way. Music is most beautiful when the writers/musicians take great and beautiful risks every time they play. HDNB is never the same show twice. The music is as original as I am, and I have been absolutely blessed to play with the finest talent on earth. Every person who has played with me has helped me to write, arrange, and texture it all. Enjoy yourself!

Story behind the song
This song is a memorial for the sailors who died abord the Russian submarine, the Kursk, and the Canadian boat. The lyrics are gleaned from prolific author/producer/director J. Michael Stracynzki's (Murder She Wrote, Babylon 5, Crusade) television series Babylon 5. It describes one man's interpretation of death, and makes one contemplate the value of life. If one could actually see a soul leaving the body upon death, what impact would that have on our lifestyles, politics, religion? My father was a naval Commander. For real.
Lyrics
Low. Quick. Muffled. Terrified. It comes, It comes It comes, It comes Quick flash, the deep blue of pain Dull, Muffled Slower now, Closer now Over your shoulder it comes The transition, the shadow! The long exhalation of the spirit Can you see it, healer? Can you see it? Gone... Gone now Gone Gone Gone If you could only see it...
