Story behind the song
I wrote and recorded this song and had it stored away for a while with no hook on it. The day Courtney McCall recorded this hook was the first day I ever met her and it was her first time ever recording in a studio. It was maad real.
Lyrics
Caught Up Written by Mike Boston & Courtney McCall Produced by Vendetta for Boston Pham [Verse 1] A man was sent and he was said to be wise. Experience deciphers truth from lies. Surrounded by a spectrum of dangerous minds. The lines of sanity in these current days. Is seen through the cracks of insanity Yet I’m still persuased. To get paper’s the first page in my book of corruption dysfunction. The tragic ending left my people on the brink of destruction. Entrusting no one, hard to follow the lives we live. Forever striving, reaching for the world unrealizing our bids. The risks we’re taking on the basis of many moons, Has got my generation incarcerated or their lives consumed. Evil looms and descends, my friends are labeled as scavengers. Who tend to play the never-ending game in this labyrinth. But had to get, Necessities of life in this world of strife. We take the chance to blow up or get blown up So roll the dice. Better chances lead to advancements when you stop and think. But enhancement of consequence change as fast as you blink. [CHORUS](2x) The future has a past, Don’t get caught up in the aftermath. We gotta make it last, It goes on and on and on… [VERSE 2] It seems the triflest cycle Was aimed like rifles At Michael and his disciples. The vital’s the price of the homicidal. Idol for us to follow in a shallow shadow, Death’s albino lurks in the chasm, Battle-axe the phantasm. The orgasm to slash his abdomen and free my cellies. And the captured combatants Trapped up in the wrath of the beasts belly Daily we face a felony’s sufferance, Where WIC or a Welly, though we rock Pelle’s a supplement. Mental posture for the imposters when we locked up see, The true colors of born true brothers through the clouds of hippocricy. And possibly the monotony’s disposition. Caught up on blocks, rockin’ a knot is a requisition. Definition of what we live in, Holocaust oblivion. The religion in this dominion ranks delinquent opinion. A pavilion of conscious peril and negligence. Six sextillion tons of earth fetishin’ presidents. [CHORUS](2x) [VERSE 3] Probably the most compelling. Yes this life we have met. To tell the truth like Dr. Seuss Something I’ll never forget. Close to the last, Almost the first Through all the strife and regret. Almost the best, So near the worst A thin line though complex. If it was something in my person I’d expect you digress. Pardon me Stockholm, Monotony’s the crop I digest Pour out a little liquor, Some are sicker. Gods advise depth. The insubordinates explore a fortified trife death. Compensate for love lost, Belvedere to the face. Struggle adjacent, Swallowed taste of the nation in haste. Poised to the chase, We propagate armies that die for the bait. Lively cadavers! Funny, something inside me gets madder. Cloak and a dagger, My inner-city swagger cause havoc. Pirate of ration, Was I meant to be a bastard? [CHORUS](2x)
