Story behind the song

I also remember a story about possible organic life on IO (a Moon of Saturn’s). Funny that the book and movie “2010 also concluded that organic life on IO was possible. I like Arthur C. Clarke’s “2001 A Space Odyssey”, “2010 was a good story too. I’ve been meaning to read “2061 but I’m just not a prolific reader. I’ve put the story for this tune below if your interested. See if you can pick out the parts of the song that go with the parts of the story. Thanks for the listens and let me know what you think. The WMA is 64k and the MP3 is 128k. Story: It had been a hard 5 years. The plant life samples he obtained on the surface of IO was safe and secured in the cargo section. The mission was almost over and Rex was finally going to see his son Ted in person. Ted was born just after the mission began and Rex was very frustrated with the mission and not being able to share with his wife Sharia the experience of raising their child. According to the new constitution - because Ted was conceived outside of State control - allowed to developed naturally without genetic programming - Ted would be their only child and Sharia would not be allowed to conceive another. So many things have changed since the mission began. The mission was plagued with a multitude of problems due to the unstable Space program and it’s shrinking funds. Now the Space program wasn’t even the same... it was privatized and his mission was the last deep Space mission scheduled in the next decade. Plans to refuel at the Mars station was cancelled as the Mars station has been closed. New plans to sling shot around the Sun using it’s gravity to allow him to jettison the fuel tanks and booster engine. He would pilot home using the solar wind converter. Overall this new plan meant he could be back in Florida a day earlier than originally planned... Sounded good on paper - but it was a new program and untested. At least they were honest when they said the only problem they could foresee was a heat shield problem developing that close to Sun. It was a calculated risk and Rex was desperate to be free of this mission and he’d seen enough Space to last the rest of his lifetime. Things could change for the better if the theories surrounding the plant life recovered from Saturn’s Moon IO turned out to be true - then possibly he would go down in History as the man who saved mankind. All preliminary experiments he conducted aboard ship proved that the plant would not only thrive on Earth’s polluted atmosphere, but also produce oxygen and hydrogen to replenish the Earth with water lost during the near impact of the asteroid Eros when much of the atmosphere was vaporized into Space and all life on Earth changed for the worse. Now it was time to go home and stop the dreaming and get on with life.
