The Bedtime Story hails from Greenfield Park Quebec, and is devoted to making the wierdest possible music. With their signature inhaled screaming and instruments such as water bottles and guitar picks on tables, The Bedtime Story is sure to keep you entertained.
Story behind the song
This is probly the most interesting way to create a song that The Bedtime Story has come up with. Jon has the habit of not answering his phone, and we needed him over to make a song, he wouldn't pick up. After leaving a series of fifteen minute long messages, we decided to get more productive.
Matt wrote lyrics about how we wanted Jon to come over, with numerous references to a certain bicycle. The story behind that is another thing. Matt and Jaime bought a little girls bike from a thrift store, and then brought it home to pimp it out (Documented in a short film called "Pimp My Bike"). We wanted Jon to come over so we could take it off some sweet jumps. This was also the debut of Ian in The Bedtime Story's songs and to this day is the only proof that he is not only a real person, but in the band as well. Lyrics by Matt and Ian, guitar by Matt, vocals by Ian. Two telephones were used for this recording, which was then transfered from Jon's answering machine to an MP3 file so we could share this wonderful song with all of you.
Lyrics
Ian's here,
So is Matt,
Without Jon,
C'est vraiment plate.
Jaime's house is around the bend,
So come on over, be a friend,
Bike is done and now it's time to ride...it.
La dee da day lawduhduhmehduhh.
We just want you in our home now,
We don't want you on the phone,
We'll jump and play and sing and dance,
People say you look quite funny,
But hey, at least you got some money.
Come on over, if you may,
With Mister Jon, we'd like to play,
We've pimped our bike to the max,
So come on over get off your (couch),
If you don't care we won't be your friends,
If you don't come we won't be your friends.
