It's not a band as such, more an idea...and a very vague one at that. I write songs as Al Stravinsky and post them on here (www.soundclick.com/alstravinsky), but some just don't fit with the other stuff I do. The spirituality feels more at home here, in its own space. I've recently remixed these - please tell me what you think.
Story behind the song
It's a song about finding your way when you thought there was no way though, or no route back. It could be about God, a woman, a man, an ambition: anything that gives you a reason to get up the next morning. I played snatches of bass and guitar, loaded them in samplers in Reason, and played around with them over a 2 bar drum loop. I added strings, brass, organ, Wurlitzer piano, oohs and aahs and other backing vocals. The upward-moving sax line inspired the title and hence the lyrics.
