A Place for My Head to Lay

This song was written, played, and sung here by myself, Jeremy Hendrix.

My band is myself. That simple. If I grow some new arms and start playing anything other than guitar, I'll let you know.
I started this soundclick so that I could start putting my new and original work up on it. The old soundclick (Diamonds In the Rough www.soundclick.com/bands/7/diamondsintherough.htm) is plagued with bad singing and bad mediocre guitar playing. This is for my more evolved work. Check it often because I'll be updating older songs and putting new ones up as soon as I can get them recorded.

Story behind the song
This song was written in dedication to someone. Parts (i.e. Verses 3 and 4) problably won't make sense to anyone but she and I, but they are important to the song.
Lyrics
Verse 1 I crashed and burned tonight all on my own. We were riding around, and you looked away. You weren't there. You were lost in your mind. Hard as I tried, I couldn't find what to say. Verse 2 I wanted to tell you that I cared about you. I wanted to hold you and brush back your hair, but when I touched you, you looked up at me, and I felt you didn't want me there. Chorus You were just...another lost night. You were just another drop of blood on the knife. You were just...another so long. You were just another sad, sad song. Verse 3 Flips flops and tank tops in the cold weather. That Chinese food stain there on your pants. The new shirt you bought. The tap on the window. The money we paid that night in advance. Verse 4 Those are reminders of the night we spent down at the park and up at your friend's. Everything's faded in memories, but do you care? Well, I guess that depends. Chorus You were just...another lost night. You were just another drop of blood on the knife. You were just...another so long. You were just another sad, sad song. Bridge If I laid my head down on your shoulder, would you let me rest there or just turn away? 'Cause I feel so sad now, and it's getting colder. I just need a place for my head to lay. If I laid my head down on your shoulder, would you let me rest there or just turn away? 'Cause I feel so sad now, and it's getting colder. I just need a place for my head to lay.
