A modern Canadian roots-pop songster. From the stages of the world, to the CD players of your living room; “You are drawn in by his words. But it is his voice
Just take one listen to George Birchall, and you'll know you've found someone different. After years of honing his songwriting skills, Birchall is stepping into the spotlight with his debut album "Restless Soul". Each song is a work unto itself that swells and cowers, rocks and rolls, and that inevitably leads you to some place mystical - somewhere you’ve never been before. George’s life has taken him from his home in the Ottawa Valley to coffeehouses in Toronto, to South East Asia where inspiration came by the boatload, to living in a self sufficient cabin deep in the woods. George writes about the world around him, the dark winter nights, the frozen water pipes, and of the people who have drifted in and out of his life. Stepping into the consciousness of people who like good music and away from the average block-buster-bore, “Restless Soul” is a rootsy folk-pop collection of Canadiana that shifts gears from up tempo campfire sing-alongs like “Down for the Count” and “Television” to the Tom Waits-ish ballad, “Chopping Wood”. From the stages of the world, to the CD players of your living room; “You are drawn in by his words. But it is his voice that wins you over”

Lyrics
Television Written by: G. Birchall Those raping and pillaging types always hogging the airwaves, spotlights. Roll camera action kick-fights. Drop the bombs. Cue the glowing lights, via satellite. Running with military might. CNN at the helm on the hot arab night. To bring you at home pictures you won’t like, but you’ll get the point. You’ll get the point. **CHORUS: Please if you will not in my backyard. Keep it on TV. Don’t make it hard on me, don’t make it hard. I just want to see...see it on TV. The hero, he’s alive but he’s scarred on his side. And it’s eight inches wide. And you, you cry, when he closes his eyes. The credits roll and you cry. The backroom deals of the silver screens that bring us our kung-fu-fight-wet-dreams. Get your bag lets go to the closest store. Red, white and blue it shows in the videos. **CHORUS. From the spelling bees, to the fantasies, to the prophecies of the weather man. **CHORUS.
