An instrumental tale of a tragic interstellar journey from Earth to Neptune.

Currently, I am a solo artist. Writing and performing music has mellowed to a hobby for me. The mind is willing, but the body isn't. I've always been interested in how the computer industry could play a role in music, yet always maintained my infinity for real instruments. I like to combine synthesized production with a classic rock sound and am relieved that home studio recording has been simplified by today's technology.

Story behind the song
En Route to Neptune is about a team of scientists travelling from Earth to the planet Neptune, aboard the USS Trident, to investigate a strange transmission they've been receiving. Each change in the song represents various events and encounters along the way. Leading up to the guitar solo, we're introduced to the anticipation of the countdown, lift-off, then breaking out of the atmosphere into outerspace. The guitar solo portrays the "whip" the ship has to perform to propel it through space at the incredible speed needed to reach Neptune in a survivable time frame (which is done by circling the moon and firing their high-powered afterburners). Following the solo, the crew is speeding along past Mars and Jupiter. All systems go as they approach Saturn. It is serene, yet erie. The crew is reflective, full of wonder and awe as they view the swirling gases of the surface and it's beautiful rings. Then something goes wrong. As they approach Uranus, they notice a large object speeding toward them (insert hemorrhoid joke here), as if to intercept. There is contact and the Trident sustains major damage. The crew is helpless, as their ship spins out of control, off course, and heading straight for the planet Neptune. Impact is inevitable.
