An aspiring composer, Marie Baringer completed her Master's degree in Music Composition in 2008, which finished up with an internship at a well-known film composer's studio in L.A. She received the 2008 ASCAP Henry Mancini Scholarship to help fund the final semester. Her work is refined and spirited, and you will enjoy listening to it. Although mainly a vocalist, Marie plays trumpet as a hobby. However, her ambitions, although once directed towards the stage, are aimed towards composing music for the silver screen. She began seriously composing during the summer of 2004 when she was asked to create the musical score for her family's short film "The Patriot Deception," which was selected as a finalist at the 2005 Telly Awards for Use of Music. Since then, she has composed several additional pieces in her spare time that she hopes to get published someday. Join us as we interview this talented young lady...

Story behind the song
I wrote the lyrics and melody for this song four years ago after a chapel service on Uplift Mountain in Westcliffe, Colorado, and only just got around to writing a good accompaniment for it this past month for a scholarship competition.
Lyrics
“Loving You” When I look up at the sky, I see it written there That You love me, That You love me. When I gaze up at the stars, I see it crystal clear, That You love me, That You love me. With everything that I see Declaring how much You love me, How can it possibly be true That I could keep from loving You? When I think of all I’ve done, It hurts to know that I’m the one Who ignored You, Who ignored You. When I look at all my thoughts, I see the painful truth That I forget You, I forget You. With everything that I see Declaring how much You love me, How can it possibly be true That I could keep from loving You? When I look at all the world, I search for Your peace, And I need You, And I need You. When I watch the setting sun, I feel You standing near, And I love You, And I love You. With everything that I see Declaring how much You love me, Lord, may it ever be true That I, in return, love You.
