Story behind the song
I've always loved Gabriel's message and wanted to bring it up to date in some way. Hence the remix, which I did last December.
Lyrics
The angel Gabriel from Heaven came His wings as drifted snow.  His eyes as flame.  “All hail,” said he.  “Oh lowly maiden Mary.  Most highly favoured lady. Gloria!”  The angel promised she would bear God’s son. The Spirit bringing life  Where there was none. “Your son shall be Emmanuel. By prophets sung. Be mother to the Christ-Child. Gloria!”   Then gentle Mary  meekly bowed her head. “To me be as it pleases God,” she said.  “My soul shall praise and magnify  God’s holy name For bringing us a saviour. Gloria!”  Nine months she suffered  for the child she bore. Endured the taunts of friends  While sick and sore.  When everyone in town  Thought she’d been sleeping round.  They could have stoned her maybe. Gloria!  While most of us have never  Seen such things.  Or had a call from God on angels wings Your spirit speaks inside us Asks us in our time.  Make room here for the Christ-child.  Gloria! Like Mary, help us too to say our “yes” Forget our pride and offer You our best And even if the times get tough  and we’re in pain. God’s sending us a saviour.  Gloria!
