Hi folks. I have added a lot of videos recently. Please take a look!
Hi folks, This site acts as a personal archive of my work. So you'll find my best recordings here as well as some pretty crappy ones. The earliest recordings here were made on simple cassette decks, others were made on mobile phones, some are live recordings made at various gigs over the years, a handful were made in small recording studios, but most of the more recent ones were made at home on a Zoom portable studio, which itself is now rather ancient! If you like a song and want to download it, click on 'Full song info' for that song and you will see the download link. You can also read the lyrics and any background information on the songs that I may have added. All my music is available for free - enjoy :) cheers, Charles

Story behind the song
This is one of my earliest songs - very sentimental and idealistic and written for children - I think around 1965. I find it somewhat embarrassing to listen to these days - although my wish for world peace and belief in the underlying unity of humanity has never changed. This version was recorded in Kuala Lumpur in 1972 and released on a single coupled with 'Everything's Gonna Be Fine' - a song which went to number one on the Malaysian charts. I have put that song on this site also. The original recordings were lost long ago - at least I don't know what happened to them - so this version was rescued from the last vinyl disk I have. Backing me on the two tracks were The Strollers - a hit band in Malaysia at the time. They were outstanding - the cream of the local crop of pop musicians. I also hung out with other bands playing in KL at the time including the Grim Preachers and Ash Wednesday.
Lyrics
Little boy in Moscow - little girl in Maine It doesn't matter where you're born - you're really just the same You may live in Africa or famous London town You may be coloured black or white or any shade of brown. You could have been a Chinese girl - it's funny but it's true And there's a little Chinese girl who could be just like you You could have been an Indian and worn an Indian ring And there's a little Indian who could have been a king There are no borders in the sky Little children you must learn to fly There are no borders in the sky Little children you must learn to fly Little boy in Moscow - little girl in Maine Why don't you help each other and heal each other's pain? It isn't hard to see that we are brothers from our birth And if we remember this we'll bring peace to the earth
