Being far away from the one you love is never easy.
acoustic folk country lai
Lyricist on an endless quest for the perfect melody.
I'm afraid I can't claim to be a band, although I have been known to jump on a bandwagon from time to time. No, I'm just a humble lyricist who is in absolute awe of the composers who have stumbled into my life and bothered to wrap a melody around some of my words. I've been attempting to legitimately call myself a lyricist since I was about 14 years old. Have a listen, won't you, and let me know if I qualify.

Story behind the song
Thinking of how empty and lonely I felt while working some 400 miles away from the love of my life.
Lyrics
Vision of Grace Greg C. Brown and Mike DeShazer There's an autumn chill in the air tonight I stand alone with the starlight Miles apart but we still share the same moonlight Time is slow when the day ends I take out the photo that you sent And I long for my best friend And the radio plays a song we used to love And it takes me back to a sad and last embrace And I close my eyes and I see you standing there My warm, sweet vision of grace What I wouldn't give to hear you laugh I'd hitch a ride on a telegraph To see the face light up on my better half And to run with you in fields of gold To me is treasure untold But tonight I've just my pillow to hold And the radio plays a song we used to love And it takes me back to a sad and last embrace And I close my eyes and I see you standing there My warm, sweet vision of grace There's are strong yearning for the times we spent It burrows in my heart so sharp and deep This is no raging storm of discontent But just a cry from the memories I keep And the radio plays a song we used to love And it takes me back to a last and sad embrace And I close my eyes and you're standing here with me My warm, sweet vision Warm, sweet vision My warm, sweet vision of grace
