The chromatic nature of the changes somehow led this composition down the 'cocktail' Jazz road. Musical wallpaper? Latin inflected elevator music? Perhaps. Interesting? In places, I hope.

"K Road" is not really a band; its just one person - me. My musical interest lays in an area best described as jazz/pop. I attempt to create a more sophisticated kind of popular music to appeal to a more mature audience. I write original music and also, as with most aspiring jazzers, add my signature to standards. For reasons of copyright, only my original compositions have been posted here. I record by myself and occasionally with other musicians, depending on the instruments I would like to feature. I am a guitarist, vocalist and bass player. I have recorded professionally. Some early four track analogue recordings appear here, together with my more recent material. Story behind the song
At the time I was in the midst of a brief (but lingering) flirtation with jazz samba / bossa nova. This is the outcome.
