An acoustic/traditional/folk sounding tune inspired by Garcia/Grisman's version of "Shady Grove". Work can be such a drag when you work for a souless corporation. I thank God I don't work there anymore!

My music is guitar-oriented rock, folk rock, psychedellic rock, jam band, new age instrumental, acoustic, singer-songwriter... Basically just whatever I feel like doing at the moment. I'm not striving for consistency, or a "brand", so much as just expressing the music that is floating around in my consciousness (or wherever these ideas come from). I'm putting the music on this site for the purpose of sharing ideas and collaborating with other musicians. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed recording it!

Lyrics
Every day, I get up, and take myself to work All the way, cross town now, where only darkness lurks I sit at a desk in a tall buil-ding, doin’ a thankless job. By the end of each day, I want to break down and sob [Chorus]: The time has come, the time is nigh, come on, my little honey, let’s leave this tired old life behind, And go where the skies are sunny I sit in my car, all the way home, bakin’ in the sun, it seems like I’m on the road so long, my day is never done By the time I come back home, I’m feelin’ so down, I just want to lay in my bed, and forget all the troubles I’ve found But my sweet wife, and my darlin’ young ones, they come out to greet me; and somehow, I find the strength, to leave my troubles behind - you see [Repeat Chorus] Oh now, my sweet one, there’s got to be a better way, than spending my life apart from you, workin’ for the man all day

Cool song, nice guitar and vocals...I just got done listening to the inspiration....Shady Grove....on the newer Mudcrutch cd, with Petty on it. Always liked that song. Nice production, nice clean sound and mix, great job! ~strummergurl~
