Outlaw Country with a touch of Bluegrass and Southern Rock. Americana. Biker Music. It's a fresh, unique sound that is hard to fit into a catagory.
Patti Stevens' first CD, produced by legendary outlaw singer/songwriter Billy Don Burns, was released in the spring of 2006. The project is full of heartfelt honesty and emotion. Her style has strong undertones of the rebellious outlaws of the past and present. It is hard to tell fact from fiction as she weaves a vivid tale in every song, each one thought provoking, and bravely exposing a part of herself. Her stories of love and life and the journey in between will bring you to tears and laughter almost simutaniously. One of Patti's songs from the CD, a fun gospel tune with a twist titled Just In Case, recently won first place in the Indianapolis Songwriters Association contest and the song She Rides has been picked up by independent artist band Cabin Row. Her tribute to the Confederate flag, The X They Stole From Dixie has been very popular with-in the biker crowd and also Civil War buffs. "I'm a Civil War buff myself and I ride a Harley, " she says, "so most of my songs are a reflection of that." She came to Nashville to create a niche for herself and she has accomplished this. Many legendary songwriters in Nashville recognized her talent and offered guidance and support...all for the love of a song. Click on Nashville Knows, a song about her first experiences in Nashville and you will hear Billy Don Burns stepping in for the last chorus...(thanks, Billy!). If you are looking for a totally different, yet pure sound, check out her songs and watch for the CD release in january. And if you are and artist interested in performing any of her songs she would love to hear from you! (bio by Paulette LaFay...Music Row, Nashville, TN)

Story behind the song
I dreamed it. Tricia Baker of Giddy Girl Music Publishing says, " I love the story of this one, Patti. It's very alternative and daring. I love, love, love the fiddle!!!" That's Hank Singer on the fiddle, Tricia!
Lyrics
Drinkin' & Dreamin' (c) 2005 P. Stevens Somewhere between awake and a dream I heard a loud knock at my door I saw a bottle of Jack and a biker in black So hot I fell on the floor But I sent him away cause I learned how to pray And was making a deal with the Lord If He helps me come down I'll quit sleeping around And I won't take a drink anymore But I didn't know I was dreaming Or I would have let that man in Now I'm laying in bed - a voice in my head Saying, "Dreaming....that can't be a sin." I should be drinking and dreaming with him. Later that night I heard the roar of a bike And I jumped up to see who was there It was the same biker man and I took his hand Cause I was dreaming and God wouldn't care We made love in the street Cause nobody sees what you do when the world is your own Then we hit every bar like 2 shooting stars Flying to places unknown. I really like what I'm dreaming I'm glad I let that man in Now I'm laying in bed Covered in sweat Dreaming I'm drinking with him And dreaming is never a sin. I was feeling just fine being over the line When my dream started going downhill She looked like a beast with sharp nails and teeth Man! I thought I'd be killed. I tried to explain the dream in my brain When I told her she can't stay around She said, "Get off that Harley. You're gonna be sorry When you're dreaming six feet underground." Well, I really thought I was dreaming That’s why I let her man in Now I'm probably half-dead Cause somebody said Dreaming is never a sin I really thought I was dreaming again I thought I was dreaming again
