The songs knox writes, evoke the singer songwriter heroes, the music he grew up with, Carol King, James Taylor, Don McClean. There’s despair and warmth, sweetness and longing. He unites the intelligence and sensitivity of Joni with the warmth and soul of JT and a fair bit of jiggery-pokery and wryness of his own. Knox is the loner, the lover and the lounger, he wanders through the quiet spaces in the chaos of the city, confused and elated and convalescent, to night times where memories and dreams hang naked and frozen in the air.

Story behind the song
Was meant to be the last love song i was gonna write about a certain person, sort of effort to finally exorcise myself, didnt work much but ... havent written a song about them since...! (yet!)
Lyrics
These blues have got me in a corner, It seems they've got the better of me. The night time comes on like a river, And it stays to mock me, That you ever cared, And you ever were a believer. Never were a believer. So I write another love song for you, What am I supposed to do: Save it up for darker times to soothe me.? When I'm down on my luck, And no longer believe, There ever was such a thing As me and you. And I'm down on my luck, And battered and blue. Battered and blue,Battered and blue. Clouds in my head, Clouds on my fingertips, Clouds in what you said, Hanging from your lips, I cant get my head, Round much of anything. Then You Had to blow it all away, Words that were easy not to say. So i write another love song for you What am i supposed to, Send it up some last chance hallelluah when i'm down on my luck and cant find my feet, all this tough luck has sure got me beat. And battered and blue. I'll wear all my heart out on these six strings for you.
