I originally wrote part of the lyrics for this back in the summer after junior year, but I never finished them until recently. This is an immense track, almost ten minutes long. It's the story of a kid who liked to rap under streetlights.

Name: Jeremy Blum Nicknames: Blummer, JB, JAB, Shoryu Crew: Nerds While AZN Nationality: Half White, Half Asian (you figure out the exact mix) Biggest Musical Influences - Mike Shinoda, Tiger JK (of Drunken Tiger), Tablo (of Epik High) I started rapping in 2003 years ago, mainly because I really loved hip-hop and wanted to try creating my own musical works. I quickly found out that I had a knack for it, and I also discovered that I loved making music and sharing it with the world. I originally began rapping with my crew, Nerds While AZN (if you haven't already, you should check our group site out @ soundclick.com/nerdswhileazn) but since then I've mostly done solo work and have finished three mixtapes on my own. I hope you'll enjoy my music, find something that you think sounds tight, and come away with a few favorites. Thanks.

Lyrics
Blummer - streetlight poetry he was a poet, not more can be said used to recite straight rhymes to break some bread sit on the road running from 8th and Broad streets and rap his words to the sounds of Swizz Beatz he was often broke, spent days at a job in a factory, trying to stand out in a mob but instead of heading right home at nights he'd go to his spot by those bright streetlights kick a verse, here's the beat, oh, he's rapping now freestyles over drum loops, that's just wow could go ten minutes without breakin' a sweat and no doubt he whipped all that straight from his head he was the bomb, he'd attract a crowd passerby from the shops heard his words real loud came over to him, spent some time impressed told him "the flow is bananas, most def the best" but he was always modest, never one to brag just picked up the coins they tossed into his bag without sayin nothin', he was a quiet one you could hardly believe he kicked raps for fun but he did, and they all said he had a real gift his daily regs told him he spat straight piff as an entertainer, he was fine playin' his part until he saw the girl, and she stole his heart (chorus) the moon shines high over starry nights black stars shine up the sky so bright by the boardwalk, chillin' under streetlights poetry is what the kid's rhyming tonight the moon shines light over cloudy nights twinkling stars shine up the sky so bright by the boardwalk, sittin' under streetlights poetry is what the boy's making tonight he did this routine for months and weeks saw all kinds of faces, some big, some meek little kids, their parents, a couple bums and cops they liked to hear him rip it over "Drop It Like It's Hot" but one day there was a visitor who messed up his flow he forgot how to rhyme when he saw her, for sure love at first sight, or maybe it was lust she was so gorgeous, almost made the kid's brains bust but he checked himself and started rhyming harder then ever the crowd got excited, he'd started a real fervor he scoped her out from the corner of his eye five foot six, black hair, skin the color of mocha pie she had a small smile on her face, amused by him he got nervous inside, felt shakes in his limbs and that was only their first meeting, the saga went on for the next three weeks she stopped by to hear his song she became a daily reg, he felt like he'd been blessed to be in her presence, he put himself to the test started cranking out better and longer rhymes hoping to impress her with his witty lines but though she stopped by daily to hear his words she'd leave soon after that, like the passing birds and they never spoke, she never really saw his glance but didn't matter, he was stuck in an infatuated dance (chorus) he had it bad, followed her home one night past his corner, past those lines of flickering streetlights probably a dumb move, but he couldn't think all he wanted was to know her, woulda been fine with a wink he saw by her pad that she was richer than him he saw her check the mail, heard her name was Kim the kid went home that night full of big fancy plans he'd introduce himself, she'd become more than a fan so he scraped up some cash, the little that he carried bought her flowers, chocolates--it was like he was gettin' married expensive stuff, it was worth it, what the hell the next night he went to her place, rang the bell she opened up, looked at him in surprise he was like "hey there, please excuse the surprise" "but i'm that guy from downtown you watch at some nights" "the one that rhymes for a bit by the bright streetlights" "i know we haven't met, and this might seem strange" "but ever since i saw you my life hasn't been the same" "i think i like you, yeah i really do" "and i know you don't know me but i hope you like me too" and he held out his gifts, the flowers and candy she looked perplexed and stunned, certainly not randy for a minute there was silence, she just
