Lyrics
Rollin’ Right Along
(c) 2006 by Clint Anglin
Hear it rumblin’ down the tracks,
Rollin’ right along,
Smoke billowin’ out of the stack,
Carryin’ my baby home.
I can’t wait til she gets back,
She’s been gone too long.
Big wheels goin’ round and round,
What a sight to see;
Got me jumpin’ up and down
Dancin’ to the beat;
Come rollin’ into town,
Bringin’ my gal to me.
That train is comin’ now,
Blowin’ around the bend;
And I ain’t had no lovin’
Since I don’t know when;
And my good gal says
When she gets home
She’ll never leave again.
One sunrise I found her gone,
Didn’t know where she went,
The note she left wasn’t long,
And didn’t give a hint
About the reason she left home
And if she’d be back again.
I got a letter the other day
To say she’d changed her mind,
Though she’d left she couldn’t stay
And leave me here behind;
“I’m comin’ to you on the very next train
To stay forever this time.”
That train is comin’ now,
Blowin’ around the bend;
And I ain’t had no lovin’
Since I don’t know when;
And my good gal says
When she gets home
She’ll never leave again.
Hear it rumblin’ down the tracks,
Rollin’ right along,
Smoke billowin’ out of the stack,
Carryin’ my baby home.
I can’t wait til she gets back,
She’s been gone too long.
Big wheels goin’ round and round,
What a sight to see;
Got me jumpin’ up and down
Dancin’ to the beat;
Come rollin’ into town,
Bringin’ my gal to me.
That train is comin’ now,
Blowin’ around the bend;
And I ain’t had no lovin’
Since I don’t know when;
And my good gal says
When she gets home
She’ll never leave again.
